Location - Pelion - Kala Nera

The peninsula Pelion is 219 km southern of Thessaloniki, the distance to Athens is a little bit more, 317 km. To get the experience and beauty of Pelion, we recommend to rent a car. We can offer you: Peugeot 206 for 25 euro/day, Peugeot 307 for 32 euro/day and we'll arrange it for you.

Kala Nera is the perfect location to explore the Mount Pelion, by foot, by car or by boat to the Islands Sporades. Kala Nera is surrounded from olive groves and pear-tree yards with directly entry to the Gulf of Pagasitikos, ideal location for families, nature lovers an oasis of calm. It belongs to the villages, who can bewitch all seasons their visitors. - flat beaches - framed of shady plane trees -cristal blue water, that invite you for a swim, water sport or fishing. Wander. All these things offers you Kala Nera.

Volos is the next Town and only 18 km away and it is a lively town with a lot of shops, harbour and a international air port. The city has an important waterfront which is lined with many pastry shops, cafes-bars, restaurants and sights. The city of Volos is located at the foot of the peninsula of Pelion at the centre of Greece. The waterfront is also the place where local people go for a stroll which is a walk before or after the dinner. The port of Volos is also very active with daily schedules to the islands of the Sporades: Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonissos. Volos is a necessary stop on your way to Pelion which is situated just next to it. From Volos you can sea the Pelion villages perched on the pine-covered mountains.

The town of Volos is also interesting from a cultural point of view. There is the Volos Archaeological Museum which contains finds from the surrounding areas that ere dated from the Bronze Age to the Hellenistic period. The Municipal Gallery also is of interest. It is housed in the Town Hall and exhibits a collection of paintings and sculptures by Modern Greek artists.

Directly after the entrance of Kala Nera turn right use the road to the beach. Our house is located around at the end of Kala Nera, directly in front of the sea, just follow the main road of the promenade, pass a small bridge, straight until the KAAY. Here you are! The center is only 5 minutes by walk away.

-Skiathos Here you get directly flights, then further with a hydrofoil boat to Volos in 80 minutes.

 
-Thessaloniki/Macedonia   A lot of special-offers at the early/late season of flights. From Thessaloniki to Volos is the total distance 219 km, above the perimeter road is the fastest way to E 75 drive southern. Drive past at mountain Olymp, just take time for a cup of coffee and enjoy the romantic Tempi-valley... and you are just arrived!


-Athens/Eleutherios Venizelos Length of the trip is 317 km to Volos.
 


 Car - Ferry    Italy - Greece:

From Ancon/Venetia - Patras/Igoumenitsa is the journey already a bit of holiday.                   

Period of time Ancon - Igoumenitsa  15 hours, Ancon-Patras 20 hours.

But there are some more opportunities available. For early vacation you always get interesting offers!


From Igoumenitsa you have two possibilities: Drive up the Katarapass, drive past at the famous Meteoric-monastery or you take the highway A1/E 75 to Thessaloniki, before Thessaloniki turn the highway to Athens. In four relaxed hours you will be at Kala Nera.


From Patras above Rio-Antirio and Delphi to Volos. The lengths of the trips are the same.
